explore la : nice coffee

Y’all know how much I love my coffee. In the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening with dessert. Popping into cafés when I travel, meeting girlfriends for a latte date, reading with a cup of joe. At this point, it’s not about the caffeine but instead about the warmth with which it feels my heart, like an old friend you’re getting to see after too long a period.

My point is, I’ve tried a lot of coffee shops – always searching for that perfect cup. So imagine how stoked I was when, upon my arrival back from my trip to Vancouver, I discovered this new café had opened nearby that coincidentally brews coffee from a Vancouver roaster, 49th Parallel (which we went to twice during our visit). The café lives outdoors (!!!), is beautifully designed, and offers delicious donuts and adorable bouquets for sale. It’s Nice Coffee, and a secret for you: the people here are actually the nicest.

Needless to say, I’ve been coming here a little too often for an afternoon almond milk latte (iced or cold, depending on the weather that day). It is so good that I could literally guzzle it down, and that’s a win in my book.

Here is an interesting interview with the owner if you’d like to check it out. And if you’re down in the financial district, make sure you stop by. The one caveat is the shop is only open Monday through Friday from 7 AM – 4PM, but I promise it’s worth the trip.

Outfit: Bando tee, Target scarf, Everlane pants, Allbirds shoes, Beats By Dre Solo 3 headphones.

P.S. Easy ways to squeeze happy into the daily grind and Copenhagen pastries.

  1. I love the feel and atmosphere of coffee shops, I tend to be my most creative there. Also helps that I always have a strong cup of coffee in my hand! Thanks for sharing, will definitely have to try this place out next time I am in LA.

    1. Right?? Ducking into cafes is one of my favorite pastimes. Often I’ll go just to read because I love the atmospheres so much. I really, really love that this one is outdoors!

  2. Not a fan of coffee but I love your style. I can tell you have to say the coffee is delicious in German and French, but it would be lies in my case.

    Le cafe c’est delicieux. (French)

    Kaffee es schmeckt lecker. (German)

    Tfs!

  3. Ok so coffee sounds great and all but can we talk about those doughnuts?! Oh my gosh they look so yummy! I might need to make a special trip up from San Diego just to have some!

    1. FOR REAL. I only tried their “raised” donut, which is more of a traditional donut, and it was amazing, but I’ve heard their “brioche” is even better! DO IT. 😉

    1. Oh you’re making a trip out here? How fun!! Let me know if you’d like any more recs. 🙂

Also, these shoes are the comfiest shoes I’ve ever worn. It’s like wearing slippers out of the house!
