Human nature is a funny thing. We can freely give advice…but so often fail to take it. We both love unconditionally and irrationally have an aversion to others. Sometimes, we even willingly do those things that scare us. And though time is the one constant in our lives of which we may never be granted more, we forget to appreciate it. Time will continue to trudge in its steady pace: a minute never wavering outside of 60 seconds, a day never lasting one moment beyond 24 hours. And yet, we let it pass freely – sometimes wasting the ticks of the clock, sometimes inundating our lives with tasks that seemingly erase the concept of time until it’s hours past dinner and we haven’t eaten yet.
I myself am guilty of both longing for the past and looking towards the future, not pausing to think of the present moment until, of course, it’s gone. But with minutes and hours and days and years comes age comes experience comes knowledge. All the makings of a life. One life.
So today, as the flowers this spring open their petals, I encourage you to awaken as well. See the new dawn, breathe in deeply. Appreciate this very day, this singular life you have, and live it with intention.
As I strive to live a life of purpose, I’ll be keeping time with this JORD Wood Watch, a company that is aware of making time count. It’s unique and beautifully crafted of natural wood, is lightweight while still making a statement, and comes delivered (free!) in its own little time capsule. And JORD’s commitment to sustainability – to keeping this earth, those blossoming trees, these blooming flowers, and us – around a little bit longer, is definitely something I can get behind.
If you’d like to join me in living your days fully, you can check out JORD’s full line of watches – both for women and men – here (I’m wearing this one). I’ll also be sharing a JORD giveaway on Instagram this week, so be sure to follow me and stay on the lookout!
