Is it just me, or does something feel a little different in mountain towns? I feel like they exist in some sort of parallel universe – one where people don’t live except for the winter months, where only three movies show at once and for a limited run of two weeks, and where your biggest shopping trips are done at trinket stores. Time seems to move slower – quite literally when you’re driving up all the curves of the mountain – and comfy lounge wear is basically all anyone is donning. Beanies and sweaters all day e’ry day, and I’m not complaining. Big cities like Los Angeles- especially during the holiday season – can be a whirlwind of chaos. Having a slow weekend getaway in an “alternate universe” is sometimes just what the doctor ordered.
Of course, being a southern girl, my experiences with snow are few and far between. I won’t dare pretend I could survive the harsh winters and heavy snows of the northeast, but give me a few blankets of snow a couple days a year, and I’m satisfied. So even though there’s only been one snow this year, you bet we found whatever little bit of it we could during our trip to Big Bear Mountain. Plus, doesn’t snow make for the prettiest photos? #dreamingofawhitechristmas
My husband thought it’d be funny to throw snowballs at me during these photos.
Had such a great time celebrating my niece’s 14th birthday. They grow up so fast, don’t they?
Outfit details: Madewell sweater from Poshmark, leggings from Girlfriend Collective. Boots and beanie are old old old.
P.S. Cute dogs in snow and our first trip to Big Bear.
P.P.S. Look how liiiittle she used to be. 😦

Just the right amount of snow can be so beautiful in photos 🙂 It’s hard to have it feel like Christmas in Los Angeles, but it looks like you’re making it work!
Yes! A photo can only capture so much anyway, haha. I will force the seasons all I can! 😉 Happy holidays!!
