The Sunday before last I attended a Super Moon gathering in Griffith Park with the Ladies Adventure Club, a gathering of women, curated by women, for the purpose of education, creativity, and exploration.
This group of women came together to listen and connect and support one another, and it was the absolute loveliest thing. How often do you get these kinds of opportunities? To surround yourself with people who want to hear your story, without judgment and only love?
We drank freshly foraged tea and decorated moon pendant necklaces. We were guided through outdoor Yin-Yoga, opened our hearts in a sharing circle, and hiked closer to the Super Moon to seal our intentions. It was the perfect practice in self-care and bonding with other women. With the sadness felt by many post-election, and the disappointment of not having our first female president, this gathering couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. So today, I’m thankful for community, which has been revealing itself to me a whole lot as of late.
If you’re looking to connect with other women (of all ages) in Southern California, join the club on Facebook and follow on Instagram and their website for news of future gatherings. I can’t wait until the next one.
Thanks to Sienne and Adrienne for hosting the event, as well as Jen Stewart and Nicole Sessions for the yoga and group Reiki guidance. Special thank you to The Sabrina Photo for documenting the lovely night and sharing all these photos.
And in light of all this gratitude, I want to wish you all an early “Happy Thanksgiving!” I’m flying back to Texas tomorrow for the holiday and will be enjoying our few days with family (and sharing here). I’ll be back after the break, but if you missed it:

This looks like SO much fun. Can I also add that I totally fell for your profile and header picture?
It reminds me so much of when my little sammi was a cute pup. He is a senior now with his 12 years but I still see him as the small little clumsy puppy haha! Gotta love labradors (and probably every kind of dog haha!)

It was really such a lovely night! My first time attending one of these gatherings, and I was not disappointed.
Aw, and thank you! I took that photo almost 6 years ago while we were waiting in the car, and she climbed up on my lap. It has remained my favorite photo of her. Labradors really are the best, and I bet yours is just as cute. 🙂
This is such a lovely blog – I’m really enjoying browsing through! How did you find Ladies’ Adventure Club? It sounds like something I would definitely be interested in here in Austin. Thank you!

That makes me so happy! 🙂 I stumbled upon Ladies Adventure Club completely by chance on Instagram several months ago. I couldn’t make it to the first couple events I saw pop up and then with Instagram’s new algorithm they were sadly not showing up in my feed. I finally remembered what they were called and looked them up in time for this! But I think it was founded by an artist who started it with her friends and it has since grown. Also, AUSTIN!!! I lived there for 6 years before moving to LA, and I miss it so. ♡
This is so great! Ladies Adventure Club sounds like such a dream. I’ll def check it out and see what’s up the next time I find myself in Southern California. I think it’s so special to take time with yourself, with your fellow goddesses, and the moon! So great!
It really was the best evening and exactly what I needed. I can’t wait to attend more of their events. Let me know if you’re around for the next one. 🙂
Sam – I’ve been meaning to write you a message about your post and appreciate you! I’m not sure if I already thanked you and am honored that you featured us. When I began LAC, it was more to help aid in my ovarian surgery recovery and now it is this awesome community! It’s quite a beautiful thing that a community like this exists and will gather again the future – stay tuned. I also updated our website, http://www.ladiesadventureclub.com and I hope you can make it again! Much love, Sienne
Hi Sienne. No worries at all! I had a wonderful experience with you all and can’t wait to join you for another gathering. 🙂 I’ll go ahead and update this post with your website. Can’t wait to see you soon. ❤
