Ok, ok, admittedly Bottega Louie is not a new fixture in the blogosphere. What with its beautiful vaulted ceilings and ample window light, endless display cases of the most colorful pastries, and all the marble (the marble!), the restaurant is definite eye candy. And sure, the macaron craze is real, but for me, I’m all about the pizza. Pizza in the morning, pizza in the evening, pizza at suppertime. Anyone? Just me?
I’m usually a simple is best kind of person when it comes to my pizza. Give me all the huge, thin, and greasy NY style slices please. But sometimes, I like to be fancy. And sometimes the fanciness pays off. Case in point: pizza at Bottega Louie. It’s my favorite treat yo self lunch – walking distance from my office and the perfect “feels like you’re indulging in the middle of the day” meal. I am obsessed with the Burrata myself, but the Tartufo is also really popular. Throw in a bottled or Italian soda and you are good to go.
This week I invited my new pals, Cortney and Jenna from A Whimsy Wonderland, to join me for this dang good pizza action, and they happily obliged. Of course, if you have room for dessert, don’t forget to stop by the displays on your way out – if nothing but to at least look at the beautiful creations.
