snorkeling part two

You might remember that my snorkeling trip last summer was a bit of a disaster (and I have the ankle scars to prove it). But I was determined to get back out there this summer – without the mutilation to my body. My cousin invited us last minute to go to Treasure Island in Laguna, and I’m so glad we went. The water was so much more clear – we saw schools of fish AND a seal. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about the seal’s close proximity (it was biting the tips of my cousin’s fins), but it was still so cool. We didn’t capture much sea life in the photos – but check out the video at the bottom to see our close encounters.

P.S. It wouldn’t be a snorkeling trip without some sort of mishap. I ended up losing a fin, and my cousin and husband got some rough scratches to their bodies from the reef. You win some, you lose some.

P.P.S. It is dang near impossible to get consistent coloring in underwater photos.
