Like I said before, we never go crazy on Valentine’s Day, and this year was no exception. All I wanted was a low key day with my husband and Kipling, who also turned four (she was actually born on February 14!). We grabbed sandwiches from our favorite neighborhood sandwich shop and had a picnic at the park, and Kipling got a doggie cupcake to celebrate. I got to wear my new vintage dress (and purse and shoes) that I found on Poshmark, and I’m in love. We also stumbled upon an estate sale in the neighborhood, and I checked out the last few minutes of it. I came home with a necklace that I’m going to try to wear (I am not a jewelry person) and an itch to check out more estate sales.
It was a beautiful, sunshine filled day, and afterwards we came home to catch up on some Homeland before venturing back out for a short hike at dusk at Baldwin Hills (can I just say how much I love that time of day?). That evening we made homemade pizza, and Whitney baked me chocolate chip cookies; I helped a little, but it was sweet of him to have planned that. It was a wonderful love filled day with the two I love most.
