I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it: I must declutter! It stresses me out having so much stuff – having to store so much stuff, having to take care of so much stuff, having to never even use so much stuff. I feel like I’m constantly getting rid of things and making trips to Goodwill. And the past few months I have gotten real with my closet. If I’m being honest, I wear the same few shirts over and over and over again. I like how they look, they’re comfortable, and as most of my days are spent at home, nobody has seen me in them and they hardly get dirty (doing less laundry = bonus). Of course, I’m going to hold onto more than 3 shirts, but the point is, I have so many clothes I don’t wear: clothes that are old, ill-fitting, or just not my style anymore.
It’s always hard for me to get rid of things I paid money for because, hey, money doesn’t grow on trees. It’s great to donate your items, but it’s also great to get something back on your investments.
I’ve mentioned it here before, but I’m currently using the app Poshmark to sell my clothes. I just added a bunch of new items (I can’t stop!), so take a look if you’d like. I don’t know how long I’ll keep the items up, as I really don’t want to STORE the clothes I’m getting rid of, but we’ll see. It has actually become addicting to start pulling clothes out of my closet and posting them in my “virtual closet”. If you want to start purging, I urge you to check out this app – it’s quick, easy, and the buyer pays for the shipping ($5 flat rate). I stick my items in a free box or envelope, tape on the shipping label (which is emailed to me), and drop it off at the post office.
Let’s start 2015 with a clear slate!

I feel the same way. I always feel like my closet is bursting with items I never wear!
