It appears that I didn’t take photos on Wednesday (it rained all day), but we slept in a little and saw a matinee showing of Matilda (one of my childhood favorites). I was so surprised to see a girl I went to elementary school with playing Ms. Honey in the production; even at a young age I knew she would be famous some day! ;p Afterwards we ate at the Meatball Shop (so good and such a cool atmosphere), and picked up the last of our Thanksgiving dinner necessities. I baked a couple of apples pies, and we ended up sleeping at Caroline’s friend’s apartment in Manhattan, so we would be close to the parade in the morning.
We woke up at 5:30 on Thursday, grabbed coffee and bagels, and walked to stake out our spots for the parade on 64th Street. I actually came well prepared for the cold, but it turns out my husband’s jacket and shoes weren’t up to the occasion. We found a curb to sit on while we waited the couple of hours for the parade to start, and we were able to stand on it to see over the crowds. It was cool to see the giant balloons up close and the different singers on the floats (though there were so many boy bands I’d never heard of…am I getting old?). Glad to have checked the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade off my bucket list! On our way back it even started to snow a little. ๐
