This past weekend was a quintessential summer weekend, and I loved every minute of it. It has been hot here (I know, coming from a Texas girl), but we don’t have AC, so there’s no escaping it. After a busy couple of months of traveling and having visitors, we are so grateful for some weekend downtime to spend together – mostly outside. The sunshine makes me too happy, and I just want to spend all of my time in it.
Friday night was the opening of my play – outside – in a cave. It went wonderfully, and we have another sold out performance this Friday. It is such a cool experience to be a part of, and my grandparents sent me a beautiful flower arrangement in celebration of it.
P.S. These are all Instagram photos, so I apologize for the poor quality.
I bought a surfboard, and we took it out Saturday morning. It was overcast when we first arrived, but the sun came out soon after. I’m really excited to get into this new hobby and have another excuse to make it to the beach on the weekend. Sunshine and fun AND exercise? Count me in!
We caught the Angels game Saturday night with some friends, and it was the perfect evening for it. We had the necessary ball park food, cheered on the Angels as they won, and watched a pretty cool firework show at the end. There’s just something about catching a ball game on a summer evening.
Sunday we laid low a bit, but we did finally make it to the theater to see the new Planet of the Apes movie. I really enjoyed it; have I ever told you I used to want to live in the jungles of Africa and study chimpanzees a la Jane Goodall?
It has been a while, but I’ll be posting an easy craft here soon!
