2014 has gotten off to a busy (and successful) start. I started working at a new job, running around to auditions, and rehearsing for a new play. The upside to all of this is I’m making money and am progressing in my career. The downside to all of this is my husband and I have had little time to spend together (I’m auditioning during the day, rehearsing and working at night and on weekends). It makes our time we do have together precious, so we are working on filling those small moments with plans and outings. It looks like I’ll be working all weekend (at my serving job) and next week (a couple of acting jobs, yay!), so we are going to celebrate Valentine’s Day a little early tonight (my only night off). Kipling’s 3rd birthday is tomorrow, so I’m going to try to squeeze in time to bake her a cake and celebrate (and get lunch with Whitney) before work Friday night. Whew! Will life ever slow down? I both want it to and don’t want it to. Either way…good things coming from this year so far. I haven’t had much time or desire to commit to my new year goals (doesn’t January always seem to go that way?), so I’m hoping to carve out more time for it this next month. Positive thoughts, positive thoughts.
I was so excited to snag this vintage dress through an Instagram sale (thinking it would be my blue Alice dress I’ve been on a constant search for), but it turns out the dress is actually green. Wah wah, but the dress is still pretty. The search continues. // When my husband is away for work, what is a girl to do? Oh yeah, drink wine and eat chocolate and watch Netflix. My kind of night.
Plotting our gallery wall. Photos have been printed, artwork has been received, and all white frames have been purchased. Now it’s time to get it on the wall! Artwork from here, here, here, here, and here (I’m obsessed with Etsy, in case you didn’t know).
Southern California sure can be beautiful, can’t it? An amazing view from an audition.
Beautiful sunlight on a walk with Kipling. Dare I say warmer weather has finally arrived?! // A stop at the Pantages Theatre to purchase tickets to The Book of Mormon (so excited to finally see it!), and I came across NPH’s star. Full disclosure : I worked at a performing arts venue for four years while in Austin, and I always got amazing seats to Broadway shows for free. A little part of me died inside when I actually had to purchase these ones.
