I’ve been absent the past week because I’ve been in Texas! I flew back for my sister’s graduation and spent six days in Austin. It seems like a long time, but the time flew by. Austin felt so familiar, yet it seemed so distant from me. I miss it, but I do feel like our little apartment in Los Angeles is home to us now.
Anyway, we ate…a lot. Friday night we celebrated with a dinner at Chez Zee and we had brunch with friends after her graduation the next morning. It was FREEZING while I was in Texas…literally. The day of my sister’s graduation it was in the 20s. Not. Pleasant. Unfortunately, my second oldest brother couldn’t make it down from Dallas due to the ice storm, so I was a little bummed not getting to see them while I was down (though we did get to stay in their hotel room!). But it was great getting to see my mom and sister. I can’t wait to go back already for Christmas!
The ceremony was held in Bass Concert Hall, just as mine was. I also worked there for 4 years!
Anna and her best friend.
Margaritas and queso were definite musts while I was back in Texas.
Funny story about these flowers. Anna hadn’t told anyone else where we would be eating, but three vases of flowers were delivered with no note attached. Right before we were about to leave (and take the flowers with us), the waitress informed us there had been a mistake and the flowers were meant for a dinner later that evening. Not sure why they were delivered so early, but it’s a good thing we didn’t take them home!
Congratulations Anna…The University of Texas School of Nursing, Class of 2013!
