I will have a game night. √
We hosted a wine and cheese/game night last month, and we had a great time.
I will carve a pumpkin. √
I got into the Halloween spirit by carving a Cheshire Cat pumpkin.
I will learn some basic sewing skills. √
I took a free Sewing 101 class at Mood Fabrics, and though we didn’t have time to use the sewing machine, I did get a glimpse into how to read patterns, different stitches, and how to thread a sewing machine (though I seriously need to study/read up on all of this). I did hand stitch (for the first time in my life) the hem of my Halloween costume. Very, very basic. I’m still hoping for more instruction, so I can really learn how to sew.
I will make chocolate caramel apples. √
I made some yummy chocolate-caramel apples topped with crushed Reese’s Pieces and Snickers.
I will use our crock pot. √
I’ve had a difficult time finding vegetarian crock pot recipes that aren’t for soup, but I threw together this crock pot vegetarian lasagna the other night for dinner.
I will check in with friends and family. √
We made a last minute trip to San Diego to visit family just for the night.
On a sadder, more frustrating, note, I will no longer be able to fulfill my “go on bike rides” item on this list. My bike was stolen right in front of our apartment. Here is a photo if anyone in Los Angeles happens to see it. It’s a 2011 red Jamis road bike, women’s 48 cm, in great condition. If you see it, please contact me and/or the police department. Trying to stay positive about all of this, but it’s difficult when humanity shows its ugly side.
After Thanksgiving I’ll update my final progress on my fall manifesto. I better get moving!
