This Sunday my husband and I are celebrating our first wedding anniversary. I can’t believe it has already been an entire year! Man, how time flies. This past year has been a whirlwind of changes and good things.
We got married on October 13, 2012.
Whitney graduated with his Master’s degree in December.
We celebrated the holidays with our families before the big move.
We drove across the country to California.
We moved into our first apartment together, just the two of us (plus Kipling).
We had a belated mini-honeymoon in San Francisco (but let’s be honest, we now call every vacation our honeymoon).
Whitney started his first full time job.
We had a lot of visitors!
I took improv and commercial classes and booked my first television gig in LA!
We got to spend a lot of time with my family in California.
We celebrated the 4th of July with more family.
I signed with a commercial agent.
We made a trip back to Texas to visit family and friends.
We made a trip to Sonoma.
We started checking off my fall manifesto.
We celebrated my birthday with a friend’s visit, a massage, and a movie.
Whitney started playing on a softball team, and I started work on my first play in LA.
Plus a million more wonderful things, like Netflix binge watching, walks to go grab dinner, and beach trips. This past year was one of our best years yet.
And without further ado, here are photos to celebrate our engagement and wedding last year. 🙂
Whitney’s proposal at the 360 Bridge in Austin, Texas.
Trying on my mother’s wedding dress. Can you say, 80s? 😉
Working on a lot of DIY projects for our wedding. Pictured here: our mason jar drinking glass favors (later we wrote each guest’s name on his/her jar).
Taking engagement photos. We used this one on our “Save the Date”.
Trying on my wedding dress for the first time.
Enjoying the wonderful bridal shower my mother threw for me.
Getting our marriage license.
Having the best time at my bachelorette party festivities.
My mother, sister, and me at the rehearsal dinner.
Just married! Our wedding day : October 13, 2012.
Our first full day of marriage. 🙂
Marriage isn’t all butterflies and rainbows. It’s something you have to continuously work on, but I couldn’t be happier with the man I get to work with every day. 🙂
Happy First Anniversary, Whitney! I love you forever.
Check our our short wedding highlight reel here. I could watch it over and over and over again. ❤
