The other evening I took Kipling on a walk and got really excited when I saw fallen leaves on the ground that were such pretty shades of red, orange, and yellow. I got so excited, I picked up a handful to take home. After I got home, I realized I didn’t want dying, crumbling leaves all over my apartment, so I decided to do a quick project with it. I painted each side of the leaves with paint I had on hand and “stamped” them onto a sheet of paper. I used some crazy (I don’t know what they’re called) scissors to cut a ragged border and washi taped the paper onto an orange sheet of construction paper. I washi taped it to the wall in the kitchen, and ta-da! It’s nothing fancy, but it’s a super easy project to add a little fall color to your home or a fun craft to do with kids.
*One leaf was harmed in the making of this post. Kipling ate it when I turned away.
This photo is so dark and grainy because as I said, it was an impromptu evening project.
Nothing beats the true beautiful colors of the leaves, so I may have to try preserving some leaves for another project.
Oh, and cookie baking is always happening around here.
