On Saturday morning we woke up early and had a few hours to spare before the wineries opened. We decided to take Kipling to the lake while nobody would be there, and she loved it. As we walked up to the lake, she didn’t even hesitate before running straight into it. She was jumping around, dunking her head in the water, and swimming out far to retrieve her ball. We even got her to run and jump off the dock, and she couldn’t have had a greater time.
She got really muddy, but that’s apart of having fun, right?

They have a little garden behind the house filled with fruits, vegetables, and flowers (we even used a few peppers for dinner the night before). And as I’ve said before, I love sunflowers.
Our first wine tasting of the day was at Medlock Ames Tasting Room. This was probably our favorite wine tasting experience because the woman who guided us through it was so awesome (plus there was cheese).
Afterwards we grabbed lunch and ate it outside at one of their picnic tables.
Our next and last wine tasting stop was at Stryker. It was absolutely beautiful, and they were actually holding a wedding there that day (anyone getting married soon…great idea to have it at a vineyard). Our “guide” hardly spoke to us though, and it was crowded with more people.
Late afternoon we went back to the house to relax (I fell asleep for a couple of hours…whoops) before dinner that night at a delicious pizza place called Diavola Pizzeria.
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: this was such a relaxing trip. I already wish we could go back.
