I apologize for being absentee this past week. We were on the most wonderful trip to Texas. It had been seven months since we were in the Lone Star State, and our return did not disappoint. We only wish we had more time to spend there because four days was not nearly enough. We got barely any sleep and packed in as much food, fun, friends, and family as we could in our short time there.
We spent a couple of days in Houston visiting family and attending a wedding reception dinner. Then we hopped on over to Austin for a quick trip to visit the city and friends we love so much. Texas, we already miss you and can’t wait to go back.
Though Whitney and I have been together for 5 1/2 years, this was our first plane ride together. Usually one of us is having to say goodbye to the other after we arrive at an airport…but not this time. After mechanical issues and delays, we arrived in Houston at 3am Friday morning. And after little sleep, we ate brunch with my mom and browsed shops at Market Street, returned home for some pool time with my niece, ate Mexican food with my brother and his girlfriend for dinner, and grabbed some drinks with a few of our Houston friends. Our time with my family was too short, and after a quick breakfast with my other brother Saturday morning, we headed into downtown Houston to see Whitney’s. I wish I had taken some photos with my mom and brothers, but we’ll just have to do with photos of my beautiful niece and Whitney having too much fun in the pool. I already miss my family, especially my mama, who I hadn’t seen in six months. It’s hard to be so far away from her.
Next up, photos of our time with Whitney’s family…
