the fourth with family

We had a great Fourth of July! Our friend Sonny, my brothers, and nieces were all in town visiting, so we joined with family for a big party on the holiday. I hadn’t seen some of them in six months…and the others since our wedding! It was a wonderful time getting to see them and catch up. I went a little overboard on photos (I hadn’t used my DSLR the whole week before), but hey, my nieces are dang cute! I wish I was able to see them more often since they grow up so fast, but I treasure the times, few and far between as they may be, I get to spend with them. The kids swam almost the entire time, only to be interrupted by balloon tosses, hula-hoop contests, and apple bobbing. There was a delicious spread of food and yummy desserts (red velvet cupcakes and a multi-flavor bundt cake for Crystal’s birthday). They pulled out sparklers at the end of the night, but we had to head home to finish packing for our early leave to go camping the next morning. The sun was shining, kids were splashing, great conversation was had, and cute puppies were running around. I hope you enjoy photos because this is a long one!
