christmas and the new year

Christmas1

Whew! This past week has been a long one. It took us more time than expected to finish packing up our house and clean after the Christmas holiday, and the past three days we spent driving to California. Good news is…we are here! Whitney drove the truck (pulling his car behind), and I followed, so needless to say, it was a long few days. Thankfully we had some audio books (Steve Jobs’ biography and The Kite Runner) to get us through the drive. I decided to have a positive attitude, and it really wasn’t as bad as I was expecting (considering the longest I’ve ever driven by myself was probably four hours). Anyway, it’s the new year, and I’m ready for it. A lot of resolutions and big changes coming our way, and I’m so excited. So let me finish off the holiday season (sad face) with photos from Christmas day. I’m still trying to teach my family members how to use my camera, so I can be in some shots. ;p

It was a wonderful Christmas. We finally got our wedding photos back (can’t wait to share!) and framed a few for our parents. We got my niece the straw glasses, mustache finger tattoos, and fuzzy, blue, monster feet slippers…all of which she loved (we’re so glad). We got some great gifts given to us as well, including a new TV (I’ve had my 12 inch box TV since I was a sophomore in high school)! We watched Elf (one of my favorites) that day, and we all went to see Les Miserables at the movie theater after a delicious Christmas meal. I am so grateful that we had this time to spend with family (and my mom’s boyfriend’s) before our move to California. I only wish the holidays lasted longer…it’s always so sad to see Christmas go. But I’m going to have a lot more to share with you this year as we start our life together in Los Angeles. New pursuits, new traditions, new everything.

Happy New Year, everyone!
