I know I have been absent way too long. I’ve been busy working more hours, keeping up with house cleaning and Kipling, and just plain relaxing. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy in the kitchen trying out new recipes. One of the joys of cooking is that often a recipe results in way too much food for one or two people, so we’ve been hosting impromptu dinner parties at our house to share the wealth. 🙂
I’ve been pulling from The Pioneer Woman’s recipe index quite often. I can’t help it! Not only does she include super easy to follow recipes (with step by step photos), she cracks me up as well!
Chop chop chopping onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and garlic for chicken tortilla soup. The colors are so pretty! The Pioneer Woman's Chicken Tortilla Soup. Yum!Blondies! This recipe came from my Better Homes & Gardens cookbook. I wanted to bake something that wasn't chocolate (for my friend Jessie) and that wouldn't melt because I would be transporting them to watch Zilker Park's summer musical, Footloose. This was my first experience baking (or eating) blondies, and let me tell you, they are easy and delicious! We brought Kip along with us to the hillside to watch the show. Probably not our brightest idea, but she wasn't too bad. :pCompletely out of focus, I know. But I still think it's cute. 🙂Texas is hot. And humid.Footloose!Taco Pizza. So easy to make, and if you aren't too generous with the cheese, pretty healthy too!
