ooh ah, oh those summer nights

Though this 50 degree weather in May is throwing me off a bit, I am so excited for the summer. Since I am no longer in school, I unfortunately don’t have three months off for vacation. But that doesn’t mean I won’t celebrate the summer as if it were so! These are some of the things I am so looking forward to in these upcoming months:

The beach + sand volleyball. Texas isn't known for its glamorous beaches, but thankfully Whitney and I have a trip to Florida planned in June. I have never been, and I am so excited! (Photo of Laguna Beach)
Backyard grilling. We have been fortunate enough to have backyards to accommodate! Nothing says fun like grilling with friends on a sunny summer day.
Theme parks! I'm hoping to be able to make a trip to Six Flags this summer...whether it be in San Antonio or Dallas. The rides are worth the wait!
Camping. Beach camping is my favorite, but we may have to plan for a trip to Enchanted Rock. Hopefully we can bear the summer heat!
Baseball games. I'm glad that we have already been able to attend a few UT baseball games this year. It's so relaxing to sit at a game for a few hours and cheer on your team. Keep 'em coming!
Barton Springs. It's one of Austin's staples...a place you must visit once warm weather comes around. There's swimming in the springs, kayaking out into the lake, and sand volleyball.
Putt-putt golf! For years growing up we would always make a trip to play putt-putt with my great grandfather in Lake Charles. I think it is something I will always enjoy.
Swimming and pool parties. Unfortunately, most of my friends now live in houses and don't have apartment complex pools. We will have to find a way around that!
Traveling. I don't know how much traveling I'll be able to do this summer with work, but I hope to do as much as I can! (Photo of New Orleans)

…not to mention ice cream and snow cones, sunscreen and hammocks, late night card games and washers, picnics and frisbee, hiking and long walks at dusk, and so much more. Can you tell I’m excited?! What are some of your favorite things about the summer? What do you have planned? I’m always up for more fun summer ideas!
