hoppin’ down the bunny trail

Easter is coming up next weekend, and as I do with any holiday, I can’t wait to celebrate in full force. It will give me an excuse to finally pull out my baking trays and ingredients and get to work creating something fun and hopefully, delicious! This year I have been slacking off in the baking department…resorting to boxed brownie mixes and “break-and-bake” cookies. And today is Cupcake Friday at work, so while I’m enjoying this beautiful chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing, I’ll share with you some of the Easter festivities I did last year.

Dying Easter eggs! After dying, we used permanent markers to make cute and silly faces. 🙂
Easter cupcakes! I shaved chocolate for the “nest” and used candied eggs to rest on top. I thought they turned out so cute!
We bought hollowed eggs filled with confetti and had fun sneaking up on Sonny and throwing them at him!
You are never too old for an Easter basket (or bucket)! My mother brought me this up last year…filled with fun Easter goodies!

And don’t worry, I’m not forgetting the reason for the season. I know Easter isn’t all about chocolate bunnies and peeps!
